Download events in Google Analytics

If you have multiple links to a specific file, each list of us phone number link will be listed separately. This is useful if you want to know exactly how users download files.
What if you want a report of the most popular files regardless of the link used?
Now just click on the "View All Download Links Report" button. This will take you directly to Google Analytics where you will see a report containing the URL of the downloaded file.
You can also manually navigate to the File Download report in Google Analytics GA4.
All you need to do is log into your Google Analytics account and navigate to the Engagement event reporting tab.

From here, click the "file_download" link under the "Event Name" column to view the file download report.
By default, MonsterInsights tracks downloads of all the most common file types, such as document .doc, spreadsheet .docx, presentations, PDFs, and zip files. .xls.xlsx.ppt.pptx
If you want to monitor other file types, it's easy to do that too. Just go to the Insights Settings page and switch to the Engagement tab.

Now, scroll down to the "File Download" section.
Here you can see a list of currently monitored file extensions.

After that, you can type any other file extension you want to monitor. Make sure to put commas between them.
Once finished, don't forget to click the "Save Changes" button at the top to save your settings.

MonsterInsights will start tracking all files ending with the extension added in the settings.
